Brownell-Talbot’s British Invasion!

The British are coming! The British are coming! – to Brownell-Talbot for Golden Gala 2008. This year’s theme celebrates all things British – royalty, fashion, music, culture, etc. All you Blokes and Birds (men and women) out there should mark your calendars for May 9, 2008, when the invasion is set to begin! The event begins Dead On (exactly at) 6 p.m. with a silent auction offering fabulous goods and services, followed by a wonderful dinner (no Fish and Chips for us!) and live auction.

The night will be hosted by Gala 2008 chairs Troy and Cathy Perry and Bruce and Stacy Simon. Troy and Cathy have two sons enrolled at Brownell-Talbot, Bret in ninth grade and Jack in seventh grade. Their son Grant graduated from the School in May and now attends Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Troy is chief executive officer of Charles Vrana and Son Construction Company. He served as Corporate Chair for last May’s Golden Gala. Cathy is an active community volunteer. She is the vice president of fund raising for JAMA at Joslyn and will serve as president-elect for 2008. She has also helped with the luncheon for the 2007 Lauritzen Garden Antique Show. Troy and Cathy served as Brownell-Talbot’s Parent Pride Upper School chairs for 2006-2007.

Bruce and Stacy have two daughters attending Brownell-Talbot. Talia is in eighth grade and Ellie is in second grade. Bruce, an Omaha native, is president and chief executive officer of Omaha Steaks, International. He is the fifth generation to work in the family-owned business. Stacy grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, but has lived in Omaha for the past 16 years. She has enjoyed volunteering in various capacities for Planned Parenthood, Fontenelle Forest, Young President’s Organization and Temple Israel. She has also been involved with Brownell-Talbot’s Golden Gala for three years. The Simons served as fifth- and sixth-grade chairs for Parent Pride 2005-2006. Cathy and Stacy encourage everyone to get involved with Golden Gala.

They invite you to call them if you would like to be on the inside track, share your ideas, meet new families, make new friends, and help Gala 2008 become another success for our school!

The goal for 2008 Golden Gala is $300,000. Proceeds support the School’s annual operating budget.
